The progress of renewable energy deployment is remarkable, but more action is needed to remain on a 2 degree pathway. In order for renewable energy to form the basis of the future energy system, the deployment of renewable energy and the implementation of energy efficiency measures must become universal and systematic. We must utilise all technologies, mobilise all actors, scale‐up renewable energy in all regions of the world and mobilise funds.
