Under Workstream 2 of the UN negotiations, which runs parallel to the development of the global climate agreement, Parties are exploring options to close the gap between current global emission pledges for 2020 and the reductions needed to achieve the internationally agreed target of keeping global warming below 2°C. This side event will present new research on a menu of good practice climate mitigation policies, the coverage of the policy menu in top 30 emitting countries based on a new database of polices. In addition, presentations will show how much global greenhouse gas emissions could be reduced by if these were applied in all countries.
