Investing in Resilience – Responding to the Adaptation Needs of the Most Vulnerable
30 November 2015, 13:15-14:45; Observer Room 02, Blue Zone, Le Bourget, UNFCCC COP21, Paris

Accelerated and scaled-up adaptation will be critical for achieving post-2015 development goals, and to safeguard past gains, particularly in the most vulnerable countries and communities.

This event, which takes place on the very first day of COP 21, will highlight the tremendous need for enhanced adaptation action, as well as joint efforts to scale up support for adaptation. The event will feature announcements of support by high-level representatives of developed countries; followed by a reflections from ministers from least developed countries about experiences, lessons learned as well as opportunities and challenges for adaptation moving forward.

The event is hosted by Global Environment Facility (GEF) CEO and Chairperson, Naoko Ishii and will be moderated by H.E. Mary Robinson, United Nations Special Envoy for Climate Change and President of the Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice.
